Wages in 2019
Average wage data is calculated as a weighted average per worker and excludes overtime. Data is for tier 1 supplier factories between 1 January and 30 September 2019. These figures are not comparable to those reported in 2018, because we have improved our data calculation method (flat averages were used in 2018).

Nurturing talent in Bangladesh

“I used to be an operating assistant. Then I was given a chance to go to the factory’s learning centre to improve my skills. As a result of this I was promoted and now I earn a higher wage,” says Moslema, junior operator at Fakir Fashion in Bangladesh.
Moslema’s skills were recognised and nurtured thanks to the improved wage management system at the factory where she works − policies, processes and practices around wages that our suppliers implement with our support. According to Shahriar Mahmood, head of human resources at Fakir Fashion, the new system has boosted productivity, increased retention and reduced absenteeism.
